Residential Project

The Matsya and Kurma avatars of Vishnu, and the Hansa Boita, draw from distinct strands of Odisha’s religious and maritime history. These recurring motifs from Boito’s visual vocabulary are depicted in Dhokra beadwork, Habaspuri silk and Kotpad cotton.

Kotpad placemats woven in Koraput, featuring motifs inspired by nature and everyday life of the Mirgan community. Made in cotton using natural dyes extracted from the roots of the aal tree.

A forest landscape in fragmented vertical panels, interpreted through an assemblage of Kotpad textiles and Dhokra elements.

An Asana window panel in Khandua silk, accented with beadwork.

Intricate Pattachitra scroll paintings inspire a large-scale Tree of Life mural on glass.

A Kerang accent cushion that adapts the Gadaba’s traditional striped textile for contemporary interiors.

Khandua cushion set in Boito’s distinctive interplay of warm tones and bright colour.

Jagannath represented through his most recognisable feature: his enormous, unblinking eyes, in Kotpad and Khandua silk.

A contemporary interpretation of Pipili appliqué, depicting life along the Puri coast.

Freehand Pattachitra by artists from Raghurajpur, Odisha.

A creeping vine of resilient Sabai grass, woven over a wooden cabinet.

The art of taking it slow: Dhokra figures at leisure, in the spirit of Odisha’s easygoing pace.
